In addition to their success in business and executive search, our team members have extensive experience as nonprofit leaders, providing us with a unique perspective, not available from most other search firms.  We know first hand what it takes to be a successful nonprofit executive and we use this knowledge to increase the value we bring to our clients. 

franks_photoFrank Hagel – President: As President of Hagel & Company, Frank leads a successful management services firm, specializing in executive search and human resource information systems.  Hagel & Company clients span the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.  Prior to founding Hagel & Company, he served as a United Way professional for twenty-two years, including eight years as head of Resource Development in Portland and in Pierce County, followed by fourteen years as President and CEO of United Way of Pierce County. His attention to detail, high standards for excellence, and dedication to customer service are the hallmarks of our company.

An active community leader, he is the past President of the Tacoma Community College Foundation and served two terms on the Visiting Committee of Seattle University's Executive Master’s Program in Not-For-Profit Leadership.  He served on the Tacoma Symphony Board of Directors for more than twelve years.  He was a founding member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Tacoma Safe Streets Campaign and was a Board and Executive Committee member of Washington Gives.  He currently serves as Chair of the City of Edgewood Washington’s Planning Commission.

He is a native of Yakima and a graduate of Yakima Valley College and Central Washington University with a BA in Economics and Political Science.

daves_photoDave Osmer – Vice President for Executive Search Services:  Dave joined Hagel & Company in July of 2005.  He has served as Executive Director of the Greater Everett Community Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of King and Pierce Counties.  For the eleven years immediately prior to his nonprofit leadership experiences, he held several senior management positions with the Community Relations Department of The Boeing Company.  He also served as a member of search committees for United Way Chief Executive Officers in Pierce, King (twice) and Snohomish Counties as well as for other organizations.  He is a member of the Executive Alliance, the Northwest Development Officers Association and the Board of Directors for the Eastside Domestic Violence Program.

 He is also currently a member of the Visiting Committee for the Executive Masters in Not-For-Profit Leadership Program at Seattle University.  He is a past member of numerous nonprofit Boards of Directors including: Communities in Schools of Washington, Music Works Northwest; Leadership Tomorrow (Board Chair); Family Services; Washington State Commission on National and Community Service; Philanthropy Northwest; Page Ahead (Founding Board); and the Board of Governors, University of Michigan Alumni Club of Seattle (Board President).

Dave holds a Certificate in Corporate Community Relations from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mathematics (cum laude), from the University of Michigan.
