American Lung Association of the NW Selects New CEO

Seattle, WA – June 2, 2008 – The Northwest Chapter of the American Lung Association has selected Mr. Mike Alderson to be their new Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Alderson was most recently the President and CEO of Solutions, a Seattle-based, nonprofit credit counseling service.  Previously he served as both COO and CFO of the Department of Athletics at the University of Washington where he was responsible for the department’s strategic plans, programs, finance, fundraising, facilities and administration.

New Executive Director Appointed for the Tacoma Regional Convention & Visitor Bureau

Tacoma, WA - January 16, 2008 – Mike Gommi, Board Chair of the Bureau, has announced that Ms. Tammy Blount has been selected as their new Executive Director.  According to Gommi, “Tammy was chosen from more than 40 candidates during an exhaustive, nationwide search under the professional guidance of Frank Hagel and Dave Osmer of Pierce County's own Hagel & Company search firm.  Tammy joins us with extensive experience in sales and marketing, having held leadership positions in national firms, as well as key management positions in Tourism Vancouver - one of our region’s largest and most highly acclaimed destination marketing organizations.”  She will begin work with the Bureau on February 1.

Pt. Defiance Zoological Society Names New Executive Director

Tacoma, WA - September 27, 2007 – Erik Hynes, Board Chair of the Society, has announced that Ms. Caryl Zenker has been chosen by its board as Executive Director. She will be officially joining the society on October 22, 2007.

The Zoo Society supports the mission of Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma by providing financial and in-kind resources for the Zoo's recreation, education and conservation programs; its animal collections; and its permanent and temporary exhibits and exhibitions. The Zoo Society supports Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in its efforts to promote responsible stewardship of the world’s resources through education, conservation, research and recreational opportunities.

Ms. Zenker is coming to the Society from TVW in Olympia, WA where she was Vice President for Marketing and Development. In addition to her fundraising role there, her leadership responsibilities included serving as second-in-command, heading Board strategic planning and acting as liaison with their national association.   

She and the TVW team recently successfully completed an $8.2 million dollar public/ private building campaign for a new studio and digital equipment upgrade.

March of Dimes Selects New Puget Sound Executive Director
